Using a combination of acoustic materials as the surface for the medium of art is an extremely practical and innovative medium for combining the science of acoustics and visual communication.

Nature prints on Natural material

Client: Google.

Design team: Mola Architecture.

Brief: Wellness and natural environment to improve acoustics performance.

The Mola design team worked with the client Google to create a harmonious wellness environment by using natural materials and imagery.

The Vibe team created samples on various wool fabrics with a selection of botanic prints to explore the perfect combination of fabric and prints.

The final design implementation using the Vibe customised “Bass” product created a perfect sound absorbing wall that aligned with the acousticians engineers requirements.

The soft touch and feel of the natural wool and the botanic imagery conveys a natural calm and relaxing space.

Local art reflects local culture.

Design team: Amsterdam artists and Vibe design team.

Brief: Create a space that reflects the passion and innovation of Dutch art and controls noise pollution in smaller offices.

Google required a design style that communicated the culture of a team in the Amsterdam office.

The Vibe design team commissioned and procured local Dutch artists to create a series of images approved by the client’s internal stakeholders.

The Vibe team digitally scanned the art and printed the 50mm Vibe Calmtone sound absorbing panels to reach a class A acoustic performance and create a dynamic and edgy feel to the meeting rooms.

Client: Private.

Design team Vibe.

Brief: A private client required a large 2 m by 1.2 m art piece to absorb reverberating sound on a landing wall in a marble stairwell.

The Vibe team selected a beautiful scene of cranes in flight. The image was printed onto a wool fabric by Vibe. The fabric was then wrapped onto a 25mm Vibe “calmtone” sound absorbing felt. The simple wooden frame created a large acoustics piece of art that created the perfect blend of art and acoustics performance.

Commercial Art and brand communication.

Client: Fm 104.

Design team: Vibe.

Brief: To create a perfect sound absorbing environment for one of Dublin’s most premier radio stations. The management required a rebrand and more dynamic look and feel for staff and guests visiting the studio.

The Vibe team lasered wave imagery onto the grey background wall of 50mm Vibe “Calmtone” acoustics felt. The overlaying logos and album covers were printed onto 12mm and 24mm Vibe Calmtone felt. The layers of materials and combination of visual communication and acoustics engineering created a dynamic look and feel for the station and a perfect performance in sound for the studio.

Brief: To create a modern contemporary feel to a small meeting room while increasing the acoustic performance while AV is engaged and stopping reverb.

The modern geometric lines and shapes combined with calming colours created a feeling of space in a small room.

The acoustic transparent fabric is stretched over a 50mm acoustic insulation giving a class A acoustics performance

Client: Hospitality.

Design team: Vibe.

Brief: A client required a large art piece to absorb reverberating sound in a busy dining area

The Vibe team digitally procured a 17th century map of Dublin and printed onto a wool fabric.

The fabric was wrapped onto a 50mm Vibe “Calmtone” acoustic felt and placed in a large 100mm deep wooden frame.

The resulting piece of art has a number of details that make it unique in its acoustic performance and visual aesthetics.
