The Acoustic Treatment

Within the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), The Matheson Creativity Hub faced significant noise disturbances originating from its main entrance, which impacted the ambience and functionality of the space.

Acoustic Improvements

  • To address this challenge, a tailored acoustic solution using Wave™ Corrugated Acoustic Panels was implemented.
  • These panels are notable for their symmetrical cylindrical curve shape, offering not only sound insulation but also aesthetic integration into the existing environment.

  • The panels were installed using a robust bracketing system, strategically positioned beside the hand railing to maintain safety and accessibility.

  • This placement also allowed for the panels to be adapted to various angles, ensuring effective sound management across multiple walls.

  • The fabrics used in the panels are sourced from renowned Irish producers Avoca and Magee, adding a touch of local craftsmanship and quality.
